Spinning your wheel?
Are you living a perfectly pleasant life that somehow feels just a little too predictable? Do your days blend into one another with comfortable routines, familiar patterns—and maybe just a hint of restlessness?
Do you ever wonder where that carefree, anything-goes gal of your 20s went? Sure, she’s got
a few more years on her now—but I bet there’s still a bit of her hanging around inside, itching to break out and shake her booty.
Most of us have a built-in perseverance—which is great for getting things done, but it’s a short, slippery slope into the land of ‘same old, same old’. It may be comfortable, but it’s just plain bad for you. Your brain switches to autopilot.
Someone once said that if you want to live a memorable life, you have to do something memorable. Of course, that’s easier said than done when your plate’s already spinning and your days blur together in a whirl of to-dos.
But deep down, there’s still a part of you that wants more. Not more to do—but more to feel. More aliveness. More possibility. And maybe, just maybe, a tiny gamble.
But what if the tiniest risk opened up something bigger?
“What if I fall?
Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?”

Ready to climb out of your daily grind? You don’t need to leap. Tiny steps will do. Take a different route to work. Put your other shoe on first. Have tea instead of coffee. Order Thai instead of pizza. Do your weekly shop at the farmers’ market instead of the superstore. Try something different every day for a week or two—see how it feels. And when you’re feeling a little bolder, go for something just outside your comfort zone. Even a little scary. You might find getting uncomfortable is a very good thing.
Ruts rarely arrive all at once—they’re worn in slowly, gently, over time. They’re grooves we slide into, often with the best intentions: routines that once felt like relief, habits that once made life easier. But sometimes, what once served us starts holding us in place.
The good news? You don’t need to smash the rut—you just need to shift a little. A tiny tilt, a small turn, and suddenly the road opens up again.
When you think about it, isn’t now the perfect time to step off the hamster wheel and try something new?
Shall we trade autopilot for a little adventure? You in?
What’s one small thing you’ll try this week—just a nudge outside your comfort zone? Tell us in the comments. We’d love to hear.
